Picture yourself in the middle of winter in this tropical paradise photographing an almost unlimited variety of flowers, mammals, reptiles, amphibians and birds; not to mention palm-lined beaches on the Pacific Ocean. This is Costa Rica and the Osa Peninsula at the southwest corner of the country offers one of the last unspoiled tropical rainforests in Central America. Our safari will take us to the west coast of the Osa Peninsula. The lodge is situated next to Corcovado NP which encompasses most of the peninsula.

Included in the cost of the safari will be fully guided walks, with knowledgeable local guides, in the park or the surrounding rainforest to locate some of the forests shy creatures as well as spotting some of the often overlooked critters. We'll also be out at night, that's right, night as the jungle comes alive after dark. A night time journey to the local frog pond is sure to turn up the Red-eyed Tree Frog, the symbol of Costa Rica and you never know what we'll find as we stroll along the beach after sunset.

We'll be the guests of the Lookout Inn with its breathtaking views overlooking the pacific ocean, you won't want to miss sunset on the deck of the lodge! (www.lookout-inn.com) Lookout also offers wireless internet access at no cost to guests. Not too bad for a remote jungle lodge!

The cost for this mid-winter tropical getaway is $1250 per photographer and $950 for accompanying non-photographer. The cost for our June Phoro Safari is $1100 per photographer and $850 for accompanying non-photographer. Rates are based on double occupancy, there is a $360 single supplement for those wishing to book a single room for our January trip and a $290 single supplement for our June trip.

The cost includes lodging & three meals a day at Lookout Inn and ground transportation from Puerto Jimenez, Costa Rica. Not included are RT airfare to Costa Rica, Lodging in San Jose, CR and RT airfare from San Jose, CR to Puerto Jimenez, CR. A $500 deposit is require to confirm reservations at the lodge. In keeping with our small group format this safari will have a maximum of 8 participants. For our cancellation policy please refer to the Lookout Inn web site.
