ALASKA, more than just a place but a state of mind. The Last Frontier in North America, wild and unspoiled. Join us as we travel to the remote Redoubt Mountain Lodge, www.redoubtlodge.com, and experience Alaska from the comfort of this exclusive fly-in lodge. Nestled in the shadow of the 10,197 foot Redoubt Volcano on the shores of Crescent Lake this wilderness destination offers both the amateur and the professional photographer endless photographic opportunities. The lodge is located in the heart of Lake Clark National Park a place where time has stood still for thousands of years. As you look out from your room you'll view hanging glaciers perched percariously in the Chigmit Mountains.
Wildlife abounds in the region with the giant Alaskan Brown Bear as our feature subject. But you may also see Black Bear, Moose, Bald Eagles, Otters, Beavers and much, much more, and the Alaskan scenery is among the most breathtaking on earth.
Besides photography, you can try your hand at some of Alaska's world famous fishing or a leisurely kayak trip on the pristine waters of Crescent Lake, a hike to a nearby vista or just sit and relax on the deck at the lodge as you take in the grandeur that is Alaska. Don't let this unique opportunity pass you by.
For 2011 we're back to our fall adventure to watch the bears as they fatten up before the winter snows bring another year in the far north to a close. In addition to Brown Bears, this year we had the pleasure of photographing what was the largest black bear I have ever seen in my 30 years of living in and visiting Alaska.
Our 2011 trip is likewise limited to a maximum of 10 persons, the cost for the trips is $3295/photographer and $2995 for accompanying non-photographers. Unfortunately due to increases in the lodge rates we have been forced to increase the cost of this safari. Included in the cost are all lodging, meals, guides, fishing (cleaning, packing and freezing)and RT airfare from Anchorage. Not included are RT airfare to Alaska, any lodging or meals required in Anchorage and gratuities. A $750/pp deposit is required to reserve your space at the lodge. This trip is filling fast so don't delay if you'd like to join us!
Our cancellation policy is based on the policy of Redoubt Mountain Lodge. For complete details please refer to the "Rates" page at www.redoubtlodge.com

Ginna and I are avid, passionate photographer, and we very much enjoyed Nick's Redoubt Mountain Lodge Photo Safari! We joined Nick and three other couples, all friends by the end, for 4 exciting days of bear and wildlife photography and fabulous fishing. Nick chose this excellent venue, and we were constantly in position to capture wonderful images. We recommend it highly; breathtaking scenery, comfortable accommodation, dedicated guides and hosts, good food and, well, bring lots of memory!

After my amazing float plane trip, after viewing the incredible scenery, I found myself emerged into the family atmosphere at Redoubt Mountain Lodge. Bears, bears and more bears, I could not have asked for a more up-close and personal bear experience. I would never have imagined getting to take some of the bear pictures I did.
For me the whole experience was made even more outstanding because of my photo guide Nick. I communicated with him so often before the trip that I felt like I knew him by the time I got to Alaska. Nick not only advised me on subjects to take pictures of but took the time to teach me things I didn't yet know about photography. He not only was knowledgeable about photography but Alaska as well. I feel I have made a friend for life. I look forward to coming back to Alaska for another trip with Nick and maybe some of the other wonderful and exciting places he goes.
